Set just 100 yards back from Northcott Mouth Beach, on the beautiful & rugged North Cornish Coast is the ‘Northcott Mouth Tea Rooms’, operating from the 1940’s in a small green caravan, the rustic team rooms has now been upgraded into a nice new modern caravan on a solid concrete base!
The original charm, character and friendly service will continue as owner and operator Margaret Frost serves up tea, coffee, cakes, Cornish pasties and snacks to many regular local visitors and thousands of hikers, families and holiday makers.
Northcott Mouth is a wonderful walk from Crooklets Beach, along the coastal path and down into the valley, over the rock pools or stone bridge and climb up to the tea rooms for a refreshing break, before walking back along the coast, or an alternate route back to Wyvern House, inland towards Poughill Village or across Maer lake back to Downs view.
It’s a popular outing for many guests at Wyvern House Bed and Breakfast in Bude, we’re delighted for Margaret and wish her every success in her new building.

We didn’t see much snow recently, like much of the UK – but it certainly was cold!
Having said that, we have seen some beautiful clear days with blue skies, some of our guests took the opportunity for a nice walk into town, via Crooklets & Summerleaze Beaches, over the foot path along the downs (obviously stopping for a coffee at the beach café) than back over the golf course…
Bude usually enjoys a milder winters with a maritime climate, being right on the coast in the South West, we see less snow than most other parts of the country.

On Saturday 28th April 2012 there is a ‘Miles for Macmillan’ walk along Bude Canal and the Coastal path, open to men, women and children with a two mile and seven mile planned walk.
This should be a great event, not only a fun, sociable event in beautiful surrounding, but it is sure to get brilliant support by the people in Bude and help raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
