The weather was dry and crisp for the Christmas morning swim at Crooklets beach with a few hundred swimmers and many spectators it was a fun atmosphere and must have raised valuable money for the Surf Life Saving Cub in Bude.

Saturday 10th December sees a Xmas Dog Show in Bude at Brooks Garden Centre, Bude.
With 10 different classes and rosettes for 1st, 2nd & 3rd position, you stand a good chance to walk away with something! Entrance is only £1.50 and are invited from 1.30pm (judging starts at 2pm).
All proceeds from the Bude Dog Show at Brooks Gardens Centre goes to the Stratton Hospital Appeal – so please call along and take part. It’s also a great opportunity for Pet Portraits… Morwenna Photography will be there so you can have your pet photographed then view the images online.
Beyond the Dog Show, Brooks Garden Centre also has a well-stocked café / licensed restaurant, great range of home and pet products, in addition to all the plants and flowers, you’ve got plenty to see.
Brooks Garden Centre is located just outside Stratton on the A3072 Holsworthy Road – just 2 / 3 minute drive from Wyvern House Bed and Breakfast in Bude… They have plenty of parking and easy access for all ages.

Due to the economic situation, the organisers of Bude Jazz Festival had planned to skip the 2012 Bude Jazz Festival… but a group of dedicated volunteers have established the Bude Jazz Club and our annual Jazz Music event will surely take place again during August 2012!
That’s great news, not only for Bude, but also those thousands of people who travel from all lengths of the UK and overseas to visit North Cornwall and enjoy a superb week in Bude, the excellent live music and general buzzing atmosphere.
Dates are to be announced soon, likely the days leading up to the August Bank holiday weekend – as before, it’s important to book accommodation in Bude as early as possible, especially during the school holidays and approaching a bank holiday.
