A new Cycling route in Bude has been awarded funding, some £1.5 million to create a multi-use trail which will connect Bude to Holsworthy and the Ruby Country using abandoned rail links and eventually connect with the Tarka trail in Devon as well as Camelford, Launceston and even Okehampton.
This is a great step for a Greener Cornwall – and will attract many thousands of people, not only local residents on Devon and Cornwall, but those who take Cycling Holidays or a further holiday activity with bike hire shops in key locations.
Cycling routes have proved extremely popular in other North Cornwall towns like Wadebridge, so this is an exciting launch for Bude, thanks to the ‘Bude Partnership’ who helped the Tourism & Rural Access in Cornwall (TRAC) receive the funding from South West Regional Development Agency.
Cycling, along with walking, swimming and riding are all great forms of exercise, well recognised for the health benefits, environmental benefits and not to mention a further attraction to our great town of Bude, North Cornwall.
