On Saturday 28th April 2012 there is a ‘Miles for Macmillan’ walk along Bude Canal and the Coastal path, open to men, women and children with a two mile and seven mile planned walk.
This should be a great event, not only a fun, sociable event in beautiful surrounding, but it is sure to get brilliant support by the people in Bude and help raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

For those thrill seekers and brave people out there, when on holiday in Bude in Cornwall you can virtually fly over a beautiful quarry on the UK’s longest zip wire at speeds up to 40 MPH!
Adrenalin Quarry is just past Liskeard in Cornwall and has a range of crazy activities suitable for all ages. Beyond the 490m zip line, there is the ‘giant swing’ near the top of the quarry and ‘coasteering’ where you can swim in the quarry, climb and traverse the rock faces and jump from various spots…

This March at the Eden Project in Cornwall is the World’s First Pasty Championships!!! The Cornish Pasty was given a protected status by EU law during 2011 and the Cornish Pasty Association, who are backing the event are inviting cooks and team locally and from around the world to take part.
A great venue and brilliant day out in its own right, the Eden Project in St Austell, Cornwall – read our previous post [click here].
The Pasty Championships will be held on 3rd March 2012. If you are staying with us at Wyvern House for Bed and Breakfast in Bude, it’s an easy drive, approximately 45 minutes and you may be lucky enough to try some of the pasties made!
